This will assist many employees who are currently working as artisans and not receiving the correct remuneration a pathway to receiving the full artisan trade qualification. This will give access to non- contracted employees to a national trade test both in the formal and informal sectors of the economy.
RPL is only related to the full artisan trade occupational qualification. In other words a construction carpenter is only a portion of the qualification for the carpentry trade.
Only a limited number of training providers and trade testing centres will be permitted to support this system. More details will emerge as the system develops in our region.
