The Joint Building Contracts Committee® NPC as the author of the JBCC® suite of building contracts invite you to attend an interactive seminar under the direction of the acting Chief Executive Officer on the appropriate application of the 2018 JBCC® Edition 6.2 Principal Building Agreement, the N/S Subcontract Agreement and supporting documentation, with reference to the 2018 JBCC® Edition 5.2 Minor Works Agreement and the requirements applicable to Organs of State.

About Professor Tinus Maritz
Prof. Tinus Maritz is the acting Chief Executive Officer of the Joint Building Contracts Committee (JBCC) from the 1st of March 2019. Prof Maritz qualified as a quantity surveyor in 1973, he obtained his masters and doctorial degrees in 1988 and 2003 respectively, all at the University of Pretoria (UP). He further holds an arbitration diploma of the Association of Arbitrators (SA). He was appointed as a full time lecturer at UP in 1975 and retired as Head of Department of Construction of Economics 42 years later in 2017. He was also actively involved in private practice until 2012.
Awards include the Gold Medal of the ASAQS for the best final year student in the RSA in 1973, the Gold Medal of the ASAQS for meritorious service to the quantity surveying Profession in 2015, and the ASOCSA ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ in recognition of his contribution to the SA Construction industry in 2018.
Author and co-author of many academic journal articles and conference papers, technical handbooks and standard documentation for the built environment; with particular involvement over the last 20 years in the drafting of the various JBCC publications.
